After really enjoying my last stay a year ago, I didn't want to miss coming back this year. We really liked the attention to detail. Be it the cake in the room or the carafe of water or the picnic basket on the cupboard. The breakfast was very tasty and varied. It was easy to park nearby and the area around the property is very beautiful. By the way, the café is very tasty.
Located in Kadaň’s town centre, Penzion U Karla IV offers guests a steam sauna. Rooms at the Karla have free Wi-Fi, a private bathroom and a seating area with a flat-screen cable TV and a minibar.

The Owners are very friendly, I booked it via booking but didn't see the check in is only until 18:00. It normally wouldn't have been a problem if the weather wasn't as bad as it has been and force me to do lots of breaks with my motorcycle.
When I arrived, there was nobody to help me or check me in. However I met some Germans who told me to go to the bar nextdoor to get help, which I did. A friendly Czech guy called the pool guy who after some talking with the Czech guy agreed to try to help me. He got me into another room than I booked and locked my motorcycle inside one of the cages which would be unlocked after I paid.
On the next morning I needed to pay for my room and got my bike back they even invited me in to the pool but I had do decline as I had another 450km of driving in front of me. Service 10/10 it's the cleanest place I have stayed in in all of the Balkans/on the route to/from Istanbul. The place had been freshly renovated and is an absolute bargain. Nearby there's a bar with pilsner for 2€ or another need which tastes great too for 1,50€ I highly recommend. It's also close to a fuel station and a Kaufland.
All in all it was a really nice accommodation.
Kadan is a small but very nice town. There is a very nice river that runs through the town and a number of bars and restaurants. The square in the centre often hosts events throughout the year. King Charles day in August is usually quite a spectacular event. Bily Beranak is our favourite restaurant, the food is good and the staff friendly.

Kadaň has a medieval gothic town centre that is well restored & well kept. The town fortifications look out on a river valley and one can make a beautiful walk up high as well as a great promenade walk down below along the fast flowing Ohre river. We did both walks and visited the former Franciscan monastery, which is again nicely restored with well kept gardens. From the Franciscan monastery one can stroll back to town through a fairly large park with lots of maple leaf trees. This part of Kadaň is a spa resort area. The overall impression of the town and its surroundings is one of medieval riches combined with lots of coffeehouses, restaurants & ice cream sellers. We tried a Vietnamese restaurant right behind the big baroque church: very tasty for a nice price.

Beautiful historical centre, though many of the shops were closed at the weekend (we stayed only from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning).
"Restaurace a penzion Bílý beránek" comes highly recommended (particularly for its steak; possibly the best I've had in my entire life). "Restaurace a pizzerie GAROFALO" also offered fantastic food (we had the Pizza Parma: parma ham, parmesan, and arugula with balsamic reduction). Be warned, however, that their authentic Italian version of Coca-Cola ("Chinotto", if memory serves correctly) is definitely an acquired taste. An initial hit of sweetness followed by lingering bitter herb flavours. Imagine drinking a glass of sparkling, non-alcoholic Jägermeister.
Not many pubs in the centre if you happen to be a beer lover, unfortunately, but that's naught but a niggle.

Beautiful town, the old city centre is amazingly renovated and you just have to take a walk along the river! Go to see the city from one of the towers, take a bike and challenge yourself in the hills surrounding Kadaň, visit the galleries or try to squeeze yourself through the narrowest street in Czechia which was used by the famous executioner Mydlář…

Kadan is a quiet historic town with a wide river running through it providing excellent fishing or an enjoyable stroll along the riverside.our favourite place to eat was Bily Beranek (White Lamb). The steaks are superb with a variety of sauces to accompany them. My favourites being the pepper sauce and the Gorgonzola cheese sauce.
It was my first short holiday after the COVID 19 deep pandemic. It is a pension but equiped like a three star hotel. Center not only for the guest of the pension, but also for one day tourists and local people. Good kitchen, lovely staff. Good location, close to the historical centre, close to the monastir, closet to the train and bus station, close to superKadaň is a historical city - royal city since 1234. Nice holiday.
I had a wonderful experience at a hotel with a perfect location, nestled in a peaceful setting yet close to the center. The soothing sound of the nearby river created a tranquil atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, and the comfortable mattress ensured a restful sleep. If I have the chance to visit the area again, I would undoubtedly choose this hotel.
This hotel is more than just a hotel. It’s in the heart of Kadan, cozy, comfortable, have its own style and makes you feel like you are at home. It has a bakery and since the first steps you can smell freshly made pastries😃.
When we arrived, some pastries were waiting for us as a welcome gesture in our room. It was really nice! I would highly recommend this place.
The restaurant in the hotel is excellent, very comfortable and good food. Good bar service is available. We ate both dinners in the hotel and were very pleased. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Most staff speak English. Location is very good, a block from the main square and very quiet. Free public parking is available nearby.
Pretty little boutique hotel. Easy access even at later hours thanks to the keybox.
nice interior, clean rooms and bathrooms and comfy beds.
Breakfast buffet was more than sufficient with a few local treats and good cakes.
Stayed there one night and had no complaints.
A nice, comfortable hotel in the center of the city. Despite my late arrival, the owner was really kind and provided me with the accommodation immediately. Nice and clean rooms, new bathroom. The breakfast was very good, too. Very friendly and helpful team.
A really nice hotel in a really nice location, just next to the river, which was reigned by seven swans who passed by every morning. (That could be good new name for the hotel by the way!)
The small hotel is situated in the centre, the staff was very friendly, our apartment with a small kitchen was spotless. Very friendly and positive atmosphere.
